The Digital Imaging Technician sits at the intersection of the camera department and post-production. On a modern independent production, the DIT manages data integrity from card to hard drive, applies in-camera LUTs for monitoring, and supports the DOP in maintaining consistent image quality throughout the shoot. A great DIT is both a technician and a visual collaborator — someone who understands colour science, the DOP's visual intentions, and the post pipeline that will receive the material.
What We Look For
01
Proven DIT credits on narrative drama or high-end commercial productions
02
Deep knowledge of colour science, LUTs, and RAW processing workflows
03
Experience with industry-standard DIT software including Silverstack or Livegrade
04
Ability to communicate image quality issues to DOP clearly and efficiently
05
Methodical approach to data management and backup protocols

FAQ
Does the DIT provide their own workstation and kit?
Yes — DIT kit is expected to be provided by the DIT as part of their rate package.
Does the DIT also manage data offloads at Indie Matter?
On most of our productions, yes. The DIT manages the full data pipeline from set to handover.
Do you always engage a DIT or is it production-dependent?
It depends on the production scale. Features typically include a DIT; short film decisions are made per-project.
