The Film Editor is the final storyteller — the person who assembles the raw footage into something that breathes, moves, and lands. On an independent film, the editor is one of the most important creative collaborators a director has. The assembly edit, the director's cut, and the fine cut all require the editor to hold the film's emotional logic in mind while solving dozens of technical and structural problems per scene. We look for editors who can maintain creative perspective across months of work, who are skilled at communicating with directors under pressure, and who bring their own editorial intelligence to the material rather than simply executing instruction.
