The Role

The Colourist gives the film its final visual character — taking the offline edit and resolving the image to a cinematic, emotionally coherent finish that serves the director and DOP's original intentions. On an independent film, grading is one of the highest-leverage post-production steps: a well-graded film looks far more expensive than its budget suggests. We look for colourists who combine technical mastery of the tools with a genuine sensitivity to light and tone, and who understand how colour temperature, contrast, and saturation function as storytelling instruments.

What We Look For

01

Feature or high-end short film grading credits

02

Mastery of DaVinci Resolve or equivalent colour grading platform

03

Technical understanding of RAW, log, and LUT-based workflows

04

Collaborative approach to working with DOPs and directors during grade sessions

05

A strong personal reel demonstrating visual range and tonal intelligence
