The Transport Captain manages the movement of cast, crew, and equipment across every day of production — coordinating a fleet of drivers and vehicles to ensure that the right people and the right kit arrive at the right place on time. On an independent film, transport is often managed with a lean fleet relative to larger productions, requiring a transport captain who can organise efficiently, communicate clearly, and solve logistical problems in real time when the schedule shifts. The transport captain reports to the production manager and works in close coordination with the 2nd AD on cast movement.
